Setting Up On-Campus Presentations
An Employer Presentation is an excellent way for you to become acquainted with our students, and they with you.
To request an Information Session or Career Day presentation, please log-in to your JobLink account. From your JobLink dashboard, select the "Request New Information Session" link (found under shortcuts). Once your request has been reviewed, it will be confirmed by email or a member of our staff may contact you to discuss alternative dates and/or times.
Employer Presentations at Rensselaer:
Typically scheduled the day prior to your interviews, but available any time during the semester. Most events are open to any student who has an interest in learning more about your organization.
Information Sessions are generally used by employers to provide more detailed information on their products/services; to discuss position descriptions and career paths; and to talk about the social, cultural, educational, and housing opportunities in their geographic area.
The recruiting staff will make every effort to schedule these meetings so that yours will not be offered at the same time as another employer who is recruiting for similar academic disciplines.
Students scheduled to interview with you will be strongly encouraged to attend. (Please understand that some of them may have classes or prior obligations that may prevent them from attending your presentation.)
Corporate Career Day
Scheduled at any time during the year, though most popular before on-campus interviewing begins as a means to attract interested candidates.
Career Days are most often scheduled as half or full day events (usually between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm) and are held in the Great Hall of the Darrin Communications Center where there is the greatest student traffic. Career Days have also been held in our own CCPD Lounge.
Reserving Audiovisual Equipment & Ordering Refreshments
To enhance the success of your presentation, you may wish to consider ordering refreshments and reserving AV equipment.
Reserving Audiovisual Equipment
Equipment generally requested and used by employers includes:
- overhead projectors
- LCD projector
- VCR with monitor
- slide projector
Events occurring before 5pm will be charged a flat fee of $181.00 per room for use of any equipment in that room. Events occurring after 5pm will be charged a flat fee of $199.00 per room for use of any equipment in that room. NOTE: Our AV Department policy prohibits employers from bringing and utilizing their own equipment. Room and equipment usage is monitored daily.
Credit Card Payment: If paying by credit card, (MasterCard or Visa Only) please provide your credit card information when you place your AV order and complete the Invoice Payment Form. Return your completed form to Judy Picarillo at firstname.lastname@example.org or by fax at (518) 276-8787. Your credit card will not be charged until after your event.
Payment by Check: If you order AV equipment and do not use MC or Visa, you will be billed after recruiting ends.
You will be charged an additional 10% of your overall bill for any AV orders requested with less than 48 business hours notice.
