* Welcome!

We’re here to help you explore, plan, and achieve your career goals – from your first year through graduation.

The Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) will help you take charge of and manage your future — from writing a resumé and polishing job interview skills to researching career options and potential employers.

The CCPD offers a comprehensive program of career and professional development activities, co-op, internship, and full-time job search activities to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Rensselaer students have 24-hour access to job postings and career-related resources via the Web through JobLink.

Walk-in hours have been suspended for the summer. Please make an appointment with a counselor for assistance!

Attention Students: Many students are receiving emails from people identifying themselves as employers, saying the "Career Center sent us your resume."  Please do not engage with these individuals to share your information and alert the CCPD immediately.  Only validated employers have access to our online Resume Books.  Always be cautious of an email regarding employment that comes from a non-corporate email address.  If you have any questions or are uncertain about the validity of an employer email, please contact the CCPD at 518-276-6234 or via email.

NSBE/SHPE Fall Career Fair will be held on Friday September 30th and Saturday October 1st. For information, please visit their website at http://rpicareerfair.org/

Future Plans Survey for the Class of 2016: Includes August 2015, December 2015 and May 2016 Graduates. Please complete the CCPD Future Plans Survey when you have confirmed your post-graduation plans. This data is kept strictly confidential and is used to report aggregate summary information in the CCPD Annual Report. Complete your survey here!

ATTENTION STUDENTS PLANNING TO GO ON CO-OP!!

Once you have an official offer – take note of the next steps:

  • Forward a copy of official offer letter and your resume to co-op@rpi.edu
  • Attend a required co-op briefing – dates are listed in JobLink under “Events” and then under “Workshops”

To maintain your student status, you will have to register your co-op with the CCPD.  Your offer letter must be on company letterhead or from an official company email and must contain your start date, end date, rate of pay and a brief description of the work you will be doing.  At your briefing you will get the paperwork needed to begin the registration process.   Your co-op is first approved by our office – and then approved by your academic advisor.  Once your paperwork has been turned into our office, we will register you for your co-op.

If you have any questions, contact Dawn Cairns-Weaver, Director of the Co-op Program, at cairnd@rpi.edu.

*Graduate student co-op approval process includes approval from your GPD as well as OGE.

**International students required approval from ISSS
