Access to Collections
Materials held by the Institute Archives and Special Collections are
available to researchers who visit the department during our normal working
hours. Due to their uniqueness, these materials must be used in
the department to ensure their long term preservation.
In order to assist people in identifying materials appropriate to their
research topic, archives and library staff have developed a range of tools for locating
information in archival and manuscript collections. These include:
On-line
catalog |
Search here for rare books, undergraduate theses (1855-1910), and cataloged archival and manuscript collections. This portion of the Rensselaer Libraries' catalog includes only materials housed in the Institute Archives and Special Collections department. |
Collection Guides |
Guides provide general information and detailed inventories describing the contents of archival and manuscript collections. This database allows searching and browsing of selected collections held in the department. |
Subject Guides |
These bibliographies highlight useful materials in our collections for researching Rensselaer history, women and minorities at RPI, student life, Troy history, and other topics. |
Other
sources |
Here you will find links to other repositories and online resources for locating archival materials outside of Rensselaer. |
