The R.P.I. Union Hops were held periodically throughout the year, usually on Friday nights and often following football or basketball games. The dances were held in the old Union Clubhouse, the '87 Gym or the 15th Street Lounge. A Hop Committee, consisting of representatives from each class, made the arrangements. The Union Hops were first held in 1932 and continued until attendance dwindled sometime during the 1950's.
