On the evening following the Grease Rush, a parade of students would form at the bottom of the Approach and wind its way through the city of Troy. Some annual reports of the Freshmen March state that eggs and other food items were hurled at the freshmen on their way to the Approach. The Freshmen brought up the rear of the parade and had to sing "Ah Me" on demand. The parade ended at Russell Sage where Sage girls would be waiting to be introduced to the new freshmen. The freshmen were gathered inside a circle of upperclassmen where they kneeled and bowed their heads. "Ah Me" was sung once again and various other demeaning performances given for the benefit of the Sage girls.
