Freshman Week officially began with a freshman orientation which would eventually become Freshman Camp. After the logistics of housing and registration, the class was initiated into campus life by the sophomore class. The first event was typically the Frosh Smoker held in the evening. A full schedule of contests included, depending on the time period, a baseball game, tug of war, grease rush, hill rush, banner rush and march to Sage. Freshman Week concluded with the Phalanx Dance.
