* 50 Year Club *

Greetings to the members of the Class of ’62. In anticipation of your 50th Reunion, the 50 Year Club board hopes to see you at the 50 Year Club Lunch and Class of 1962 Induction Ceremony on Friday, Oct. 5, when current 50 Year Club members will welcome you into their ranks. All alumni who graduated 50 years ago or more automatically become general members of the club, so we wanted to tell you a bit about the 50 Year Club.

During this luncheon meeting, you will have an opportunity to vote for the 50 Year Club officers and to vote on amendments to our bylaws.

In the last issue of Rensselaer we talked about the role of the 50 Year Club. One example is the 50 Year Club Community Service Prizes awarded each year to current Red & White students who exemplify exceptional community service, both at Rensselaer and in the broader community. This past spring the following students, all from the Class of 2013, received our awards: Brian Nock, Gold; Benjamin Lewis, Silver; and Courtney Nichols, Bronze. These awards were accompanied by an appropriate monetary award, and were presented at a luncheon following the April 50 Year Club board meeting.

You would all be impressed by the devotion of these students to the RPI community and their outstanding activities at RPI. So your contribution to the 50 Year Club, both in self and funds, will help us to continue this and the other activities of the 50 Year Club.
