Optical Society Honors Harris ’59
The Optical Society (OSA) has elected Stephen Harris ’59 as its newest honorary member, the society’s most distinguished membership status.

B. Jayant Baliga 74 Earns IEEE Medal of Honor
B. Jayant Baliga, Ph.D. ’74, has been selected as the recipient of the 2014 IEEE Medal of Honor. Established in 1917, the Medal of Honor is the highest award given by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Gruhn ’88 Reaches High Points in All 50 States
Steve Gruhn ’88, M.S. ’90, achieved his goal to reach the highest point in each state when he conquered Mount McKinley, at 20,320 feet the highest peak in the U.S., in his home state of Alaska on June 28, 2013.

Michael Phinney ’95 Promotes Sustainable Design and Construction
Michael Phinney ’95 celebrated the 10th anniversary of his company, Phinney Design Group, in November. The architecture, interior design, green building consulting, and construction management firm is located in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
